Weight Loss Forever - Get it This Semester!

"You never had a weight problem, did you," I hear often from those who look at me and lament about their own body.
"Of course I did," I might say.  I spent years upset about weight.  I tried diets, pills, fasts, programs and all sorts of things, until I discovered how food worked, got good with it, and never had to look back - except to feel ammmmazing about what I get to live with.  I now love my long limbs with all their slenderness, and the soft curves that give me a nice womanly shape.

Truth be told - I used to have a picture of a Victoria Secret model on the cover of my journal with the head cut off and imagine it was me.  Then it was me, and I never had to look back or worry about weight again.

As we head into the school year, I remember buying clothes to cover up in.  Then I remember that now I've lived without worry of size, or fat, for so many years I've lost count.

Do you want the recipe for living in your perfect body forever?
It's simple whole food living with lots of fun, variety, and know how.

The know how part is key.  If you want to really feel great and look great, there usually needs to be a reduction in inflammation.  So not all vegetables will be equal.  Tomato's for example might be a lovely vegetable full of lycopene and vitamin C but they are also very acid forming and that will cause inflammation and that can create puffy fatty bodies.  While not as much as pastries, breakfast cereals or muffins, everything adds up.  Everything counts.

I've learned to love a way of eating where I have less strong acid forming foods and more alkalizing elements to create health, energy and a body I feel happy inside of.

Then there is also the shedding of things like yeast and fungus.  No matter how "perfect" your diet is, if you have parasitic things like fungus living inside of you, there will be a struggle to slim down.  Sometimes even without a big dietary shift, a person will lose a significant amount of fat and puffiness when they eliminate yeast.  (Hey I wouldn't know this if I didn't have both personal, and professional experience to see it first hand.)

There is no shame in clearing up stuff.  In fact it says you've lived.  Opening up to a larger life where there is more fun than doughnuts on a Sunday morning, and no need for coffee anymore because you wake up with tons of energy, is true macro living!  Try it on for your perfect size.

Burner Notes - Healthy Foods are Easy!

If your burner could talk - would it ask you why it rarely gets used?
Cooking can be fun, a creative quick project, or as simple as making toast.
Yesterday I cooked up two types of grain.  Millet in the morning, and Jobs Tears barley in the evening.  I made enough of each (2 cups before cooking) to last for days.

This morning I took out one pot, heated water for tea and then put some millet into the small amount of liquid left after I'd poured most into my mug.  Heated up the millet in one minute and put into a bowl to add a few condiments.  There are only two dishes to clean up, and this is just as quick as cereal from a box, only five times as good for you.

You get something soothing, nourishing and assimilating.  You get high fiber as well as protein and vitamins.  Plus what ever you add on top.  Cinnamon, honey, pumpkin seeds, almonds, or fruits.  Some people like to add leftovers from the day before or even a scramble of any sort. (beans, tofu, eggs all work...)

Get creative.  Love your burner.

Need ideas, instructions, the inside info that will last your lifetime?  Stay tuned the flash session sale is coming next week!

Pleasure - Fun - Energy - You Can Have It All From Your Food.

I wish I had a photo of the banana blueberry cake I shared with a friend the other night, but here are some blueberries I picked up in New Hampshire visiting my folks last week.
Both were a treat.  I had some of the blueberries each morning, and the cake, I savored, enjoyed and was satisfied.  I don't need a fancy dessert every day.  (but I sure used to....)

Then on Facebook today, I was asking why I've sold so many Candida Clearing Cookbooks(http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/susanmarque) in the last two weeks, and saw a post of a friend.  She was joking about all of the weight she'd gained on her vacation.

When having fun, we post signs like this to ensure safety but somehow forget basic body rules in the name of a good time.  Cakes, cookies, pies and muffins are fun, smoothies are fun.  Summery slushy, fizzy, and fruity drinks are fun, and all can contribute to being more tired, and a size wider.

I choose my treats by checking in on how I am feeling.  Where am I in my cycle?  Would a treat be nice to help me relax or is it just going to make me tired for the next three days when I would rather be full of energy?  The same goes for how much quantity I consume.  I am capable of eating large portions of food.  In the beginning of switching my diet to more whole grains instead of breads, more veggies then I'd every known, adding beans in and eating less meat and no dairy, I was amazed at the quantity of food I could eat and still keep losing fat.  I shrank in size, started glowing with clear skin, but there were little nagging things that kept happening - until I started limiting my quantity.

It is fun to try new foods, have experiences and enjoy the pleasure of taste.  Just remember a little key to a greater (macro) life is limitations have their rewards.

If you would like a personal coaching session by phone  - zap your blunders for good and learn how foods really work in the body to look and feel your best from now on - stay tuned to this blog because the one day flash sale is coming!!

Try Something New - Food Sparkle that's good for you (recipe included - vegan, vegetarian, macrobiotic, gluten free)

Heads up - very soon I will be announcing a coaching one day flash sale.  I happened to give an incredible deal to someone who could so easily heal her ailments and get out of pain, I didn't want cost to stand in her way.  Since I gave her such an outragously terrific price - I will offer it to everyone (gotta be fair right...) for one day only.  Look for that in just a few days.

And now for Today's treat:

I often get stuck in ruts of eating similar easy meals over and over.  Then I'm so happy when I make something different and get some new flavors into my week.

How about a product that is not only good for you - it adds sparkle to many a meal?

Cavi-art vegan caviar is made from sea vegetables and comes in some fun flavors.  I tried it with my wonderful gourmet chef friend Junie.  The texture is fun, the colors add a lift to simple meals, as well as flavor.  We favored the ginger and black.  Great on Sushi, crackers, pasta, dumplings, and even soup.

Pasta with a Caviar "Cream" Sauce
Serving four:
1 pound pasta
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 medium onion or shallot
1 clove of garlic
2 tablespoons of tofu cream cheese or 1/3 cup unsweetened soy milk
A splash of white wine or cooking water from the pasta
2 tablespoons Cavi-art of your choice
8 leaves of shiso or if not available, a handful of either basil or parsley
Sea salt to taste
Crushed red pepper to taste

Boil pasta according to the packaging.  Remember to add salt to the water or the pasta will turn out bland.  While pasta is cooking, julienne the onions and let slowly brown in olive oil in a medium pan over medium low heat.  Toss in a pinch of salt.  Once the onions have started to brown, add the garlic and saute for one more minute.  If no tofu cream cheese, add the soy milk now and allow to reduce in the pan.  If tofu cream cheese, add the tofu cream cheese and add a splash of either white wine or salted pasta water to melt and reduce.  Once pasta is ready drain and add directly into pan with mixture.  Add in the Cavi-art and toss with another pinch of salt.  Add the crushed red pepper if desired.  Shred the shiso or basil or parsley and sprinkle over top.  Top with a little drizzle of olive oil and serve!

This is a Junie Ishimori recipe.  She owned Stogos, and is a wonderful private chef in NY.  Keep an eye out for her next restaurant.
